We are a privately owned two doctor small companion animal practice located in Vernon, CT which allows for suburban, rural, or urban living.  We have a well-trained support staff with diagnostic and treatment capabilities to ensure you can practice the best medicine for your patients.

Town and Country Veterinary Associates offers digital radiology, digital dental radiology, ultrasound capabilities, laser therapy, a full suite of chemistry analyzers and a surgery suite.  We are open Mondays through Fridays, closed on weekends with no on-call hours, offering perfect work/life balance.  Town and Country Veterinary Associates strongly believes that veterinarians need to be able to pursue their passion for exceptional animal care without sacrificing a healthy work-life integration.

Full-Time Veterinary Technicians & Assistants

Town & Country Veterinary Associates is looking to add full time help to our team. We are a small, privately owned animal practice with a full surgical and dental suite allowing us to perform digital x-rays and digital dental x-rays as well as in-hospital bloodwork analyzers. Town & Country provides quality medicine for both dogs and cats. We are looking for skilled veterinary technicians and veterinary assistants/receptionists. All candidates applying must have a minimum of one year working in a veterinary office and be a team player. We use Impromed software, and all charts are digital.

Veterinary Technicians must have surgical skills such as venipuncture, placing IV catheters, intubation, anesthesia monitoring and assisting in surgeries. Technicians should also be skilled in preparing and analyzing urine specimens, blood draws, proper positioning for x-rays, educating clients, assisting in exam rooms, digital dental x-rays, caring for hospitalized patients and a willingness to learn. We offer training to the right candidate.

Veterinary Assistants/Receptionists must have excellent customer service skills, proper phone etiquette, be able to prioritize work, multi-task, handle an extremely busy front desk, be professional and maintain coolness under pressure. The position will be spent dividing time between assisting in appointments and working at the front desk. Candidates must be people oriented, outgoing, willing to help clients and their pets, love animals and have a positive attitude. Duties will include answering phone calls, answering emails, checking in/out clients, preparing invoices, and taking payment. Assistants must be experienced in taking histories, assisting veterinarians in appointments, processing samples to be sent out, keeping exam rooms clean and have a fine attention to detail.

All applicants applying must be willing to learn, work hard, work well in a team environment and be ready to assist in any area of the office. Candidates must have a minimum of one year in veterinary medicine. Candidates applying without experience will not be considered. Compensation is negotiable and is based on experience.
